EN 12966-1:2005+A1:2009－This document specifies requirements andtest methods for new Variable Message Signs(VMS). VMS comprise twotypes, continuous and discontinuous signs:
-Continuous signs are those that are similar to fixed signs, theonly difference being that by some electro-mechanical means theycan show various messages.

This European Standard specifies requirements for aluminiumlighting columns. It includes materials and conformity control. Itapplies to post top columns not exceeding 20 m height for post toplanterns and to columns with brackets not exceeding 18 m height forside entry lanterns. This European Standard specifies performancerelated to the essential requirements of resistance to horizontal(wind) loads and performance under impact in support of theEssential Requirement No 4 Safety in use measured according to thecorresponding test methods included in this European Standard oravailable in separate European Standards. It provides for theevaluation of conformity of the products to this EuropeanStandard.
