SIMATIC PCS 7 Industry Library V9.0 is available effectiveimmediately. The SIMATIC PCS 7 Industry Library V9.0 offersspecific blocks and faceplates for various processes andapplications as an extension of the PCS 7 Advanced ProcessLibrary.

1. Use and Area of Application

The functions of the SIMATIC PCS 7 Industry Library V9.0 areexecuted in the style of the SIMATIC PCS 7 Advanced Process Libraryand seamlessly complement their standard functionality. Together,the two libraries enable harmonized overall solutions for specificcontrol system tasks in many different industries, e.g.:

• Chemicals

• Pharmaceuticals

• Water and waste water

• Glass and solar energy

• Oil and gas industry

• Food and beverage industry

• Minerals and mining

The SIMATIC PCS 7 Industry Library V9.0 offers the followingfunction:

• Parameter block with variable number of values

• Functions for monitoring and controlling loads

• Voting block for up to 8 analog values

• Equipment monitoring for up to 16 units

• Hierarchical multi-control room operation

• Analog monitoring of 8 freely selectable limits

• Analog monitoring with additional binary limit monitoring

• Time switch for up to 8 time intervals

• Polyline with variable number of interpolation points

• Setpoint encoder with a variable number of setpoints

• Functions for building automation

• Simulation blocks

• Standardized connection to external APC applications

• Jump distributor for up to 5 jump destinations

• Multiway diverter

• Voting block for up to 8 digital values (new with V9.0!)

• Interlock block 4x3 for up to 8 input signals over up to 3levels (new with V9.0!)

• Interlock block 8x4 for up to 16 input signals over up to 4levels (new with V9.0!)

• Communication blocks for coordinated communication betweenhighly available and not highly available controllers. (New withV9.0!)

Note
Installation of TIA Portal software and PCS 7 V9.0 on one stationis not approved. This is the reason why elements for configuringthe WINCC Comfort Panel are not included in the product package ofSIMATIC PCS 7 Industry Library V9.0. The elements will be madeavailable as soon as the installation of the TIA Portal softwarefor PCS 7 V9.0 is approved.

3. Design

The SIMATIC PCS 7 Industry Library V9.0 is divided internally intotwo sub-libraries that can be separately installed:

• Industry Library for PCS 7

• Industry Library for S7
  

4. SIMATIC PCS 7 Industry Library Licensing

The licensing of the SIMATIC PCS 7 Industry Library V9.0 consistsof three licenses:

• Engineering license per engineering station

• AS Runtime license per AS

• Upgrade from V8.x to V9.0 per project

The Engineering license allows engineering of the componentscontained in SIMATIC PCS 7 Industry Library V9.0. Any licensesrequired for the use of the "IL for S7" for SIMATIC WinCC orSIMATIC STEP 7 are not included and must be additionallypurchased.

The AS Runtime license is required for each AS (S7-400(H), S7-300,IM151-8, AS RTX or S7-1500) on which the components of the SIMATICPCS 7 Industry Library V9.0 are to be loaded.

The PCS 7 AS RT PO concept for technological blocks of the SIMATICPCS 7 Industry Library V9.0 also applies within SIMATICPCS 7 or STEP 7 Engineering. Refer to the blockdescription in the manual to learn the required number PCS 7 AS RTPO per block instance.

TheUpgrade license is for upgrading plants that use licenses of thePCS 7 Industry Library V8.0, V8.1 or V8.2. The Upgrade license mustbe ordered once per project and applies to all PCS 7 IndustryLibrary licenses included in the project.
