Thiscoating system was developed for the U.S. Navy and qualified forits use on aircraft subjected to harsh operating conditions. Thispaint system is compatible with current and earlier generations ofNight Vision Goggles (NVGs). The three parts of the system are (1)white base coat, (2) photoluminescent (PL) coat, and (3) cleartopcoat.
Typical coverage is up to 800 square inches per paint kit dependingon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, gun type andspray pattern, film thickness, amount of overspray and paintertechnique.
