TeleControl Basic is based on SIMATIC S7-1200, ET 200SP as well asSIMATIC RTU3000C and secure transmission via mobile wireless or theInternet. It is particularly suitable wherever small dataquantities have to be transmitted over wireless connections or viathe Internet.

TeleControl Basic can be used as a low-cost fault signaling system,but thanks to the bidirectional communications facility, it is alsosuitable for simple telecontrol tasks for monitoring andcontrol.

Communication options with TeleControl Basic

Processdata communication

TeleControl Server Basic software enables the connection of up to5 000 telecontrol stations to the control center via the OPCinterface (OPC UA) using GPRS mobile wireless orEthernet/internet.

TeleControl Server Basic is an OPC server software with specialcommunication functions, which permit it to support connections toremote telecontrol substations. These PLCs are configured with theCP 1243-7 LTE, CP 1242-7 GPRS, CP 1243-1 (Ethernet), CP 1542SP-1IRC (Ethernet), or they comprise the compact Remote Terminal Unitsof the RTU3000C family. Mobile wireless services or standard IPservices via Ethernet are used for the connections.

Via the mobile wireless connections or Ethernet/internet, theremote TeleControl substations can communicate with the TeleControlServer Basic software or with other SIMATIC PLCs that are connectedwith TeleControl Server Basic

The PC on which TeleControl Server Basic is installed must bepermanently accessible from the mobile wireless network. It musttherefore be directly connected to the mobile wireless providerusing a dedicated line, and permanently to the internet, e.g. viaDSL.

For substations of the type S7-1200 and ET 200SP, the telecontrolfunctions are configured directly with STEP 7 Basic/ProfessionalV14 (TIA Portal) or higher. The Remote Terminal Units of theRTU3000C family are configured via a web server (web-basedmanagement – WBM).

Alarmsas text messages

The communications processors CP 1243-7 LTE, CP 1242-7 GPRS and theRTU3000C can receive and send messages directly as text messages. Acell phone or another PLC can be the communication partner.

Wake-upfunction

"Wake-up" of stations that change from standby mode to online modefor diagnostics purposes. The RTU3000C is woken up by itscommunication partner (e.g. TeleControl Server Basic) using awake-up call or a wake-up SMS to establish the connection betweenthem.

For security reasons, the communication partner must identifyitself appropriately for the wake-up function, e.g. using the CLIPfunction.

Accessto the telecontrol stations using teleservice

TeleControl Server Basic contains the teleservice function directlyin the TIA Portal. This gives internationally active plant andmachine manufacturers worldwide access to the SIMATIC telecontrolstations.
