Royco 49 General Purpose Grease is a grey-black mineral oil-basedgrease with a smooth, buttery consistency. It utilizes an inorganicgel thickener and micro-fine molybdenum disulfide, combined withadditives to resist oxidation, water washout, and protectionagainst corrosion in fresh and saltwater environments.
This product is designed for demanding applications characterizedby severe operating conditions, including high temperatures, low tomoderate speeds, heavy loads, extreme pressure, and exposure tosaltwater or high-pressure steam environments. Its primary purposeis to lubricate critical components of shipboard aircraft catapultsystems and automotive and ground support equipment.
Specifically, this grease is suitable for environments with typicalhigh temperatures up to 177°C (350°F) and occasional exposure totemperatures up to 204°C (400°F). It is also well-suited forsystems that involve low-speed operation, heavy loads, exposure tosaltwater, and contact with high-pressure steam. However, it isessential to note that prior performance evaluation is necessarybefore using this product in high-speed anti-friction bearings.
