Halocarbon 56 oil is a medium molecular weight polymer ofchlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE). This inert oil is manufactured bya controlled polymerization process and then is stabilized to giveit some very unique properties. This oil is safe, nonflammable, andchemically inert – safe for oxygen, chlorine, and most reactive gasservices. It has good lubricity, high thermal stability, and lowcompressibility.
Halocarbon 56 oil is one of the medium viscosity inert oils thatis manufactured by Halocarbon Products. The major application ofHalocarbon 56 oil is for general purpose inert lubrication, such asbearings, compressors, gear boxes, and pumps.
